Vancouver Sun: Wesbild's Vernon-Area Community Offers Mix of Homes to Fit Terrain
Resort Ready Homes

Wesbild's Vernon-area community offers a mix of homes that fit the natural sloping terrain
At their new home at Predator Ridge in the North Okanagan, Gale and Mark Moger enjoy a view that takes in rolling hills and grasslands, overshot by a prairie-like sky.
But they particularly appreciate the Predator Ridge community - now a collection of almost 500 homes within 10 distince neighbourhoods, variously sited on 1,200 acres of what were once grazing lands, and a 10-minute drive south of Vernon.
While considering retirement in the Okanagan, the former Victoria couple vacationed at Predator Ridge. "We were so impressed, we looked and we bought," says Mark Moger of the two-bedroom rancher they moved in early July.
"The people, the ambience and the location" were the deciding factors in choosing to build in the Longspoon Ridge neighbourhood within Predator Ridge, says Moger, who recently retired from the Canadian navy.
While their house was under construction, they found the Predator Ridge developer, Vancouver-based Wesbild, reliably communicative and sensitive to their wishes. "We took a huge leap of faith, but they made us feel good about everything," says Gale Moger.
And once moved in, the Mogers discovered a solid sense of community. "We know our neighbours, and we're meeting people every week," she adds. "We're already a little neighbourhood here at Longspoon Ridge - within Predator Ridge."
