VANCOUVER - She swung clubs for a living, then carried them, and now A.J. Eathorne is looking to begin the next chapter of her golfing life.
The 35-year-old Penticton native is returning home, at least very close to home, to teach the game to others.
Eathorne, the former LPGA Tour regular who has spent the better part of the past three years caddying on both the PGA and LPGA tours, is joining the Predator Ridge Resort in Vernon as an instructor at the resort's golf academy.
"I have just been thinking about doing something different," Eathorne says over the phone from her Phoenix home. "I had become a little tired of the travel and needed a change personally more than anything."
At Predator Ridge, Eathorne will be reunited with Brad Pelletier, who was her agent during her years as a professional golfer.
"He picked me up when he was with IMG and really honed me into who I was as a professional golfer." Eathorne says. "I feel like he is kind of like my big brother in a way."
Pelletier now serves as vice-president of the Okanagan for Wesbild, which owns the 36-hole Predator Ridge facility.
