The Tips Homes Built With ICF Technology

As with all of the projects the team at Wesbild Homes takes on, we are proud to build homes that are innovative and built to the highest standards.

At The Tips, we have incorporated an innovative product called “Insulated Concrete Forms” or ICF into the foundation which provides these homes with increased liveability and green benefits.

ICF is a system of formwork for concrete that stays in place as permanent building insulation for energy-efficient, cast-in-place, reinforced concrete walls, floors, and roofs.

The forms are interlocking modular units that are dry-stacked (without mortar) and filled with concrete. The forms lock together somewhat like Lego bricks and serve to create a form for the structural walls or floors of a building.

Some of the direct benefits that ICF provides are:

1. Improved energy efficiency: ICF is a highly insulated concrete wall, with no air spaces or studs, which vastly reduces outside air infiltration, increasing efficiency. The high thermal mass of the ICF resists temperature change helping to create a more consistent comfortable environment.

2. Greater sound resistance: ICF construction uses a double foam insulated concrete core that acts as an effective sound barrier, filters out unwanted noise, dampens sound vibrations and ensures a serene and comfortable ambiance within these luxurious homes.

3. More durable to Mother Nature: When compared to traditional building methods, ICF provides greater durability and strength.

4. Better for the environment: ICF are excellent construction technology, producing very little waste during construction. The increased energy efficiency also has long term benefits for the environment over conventional methods.
