Meet Our Resort Sales Manager, Janine Collard
One of the best parts of Predator Ridge is our team of loyal and dedicated staff that put their all into delivering a world-class experience to our community, members and guests.
One thing you may not know and that we’re most proud of is how many team members we have who have been here for 10 years+. Through our 30th anniversary celebrations, we will showcase and introduce you to a new team member (or two) each week who is in our decade club.
This week we’re featuring Janine Collard, our Resort Sales Manager. Janine joined the Predator Ridge team in 2004 and is a wealth of knowledge on all things Predator Ridge. Over the last 17 years Janine has had her hands on every major event that has taken place on resort and is a huge reason for their success. If you want to hear some fun stories Janine is your girl.
Favourite Predator Ridge Memory?
My favourite day was the day that I was asked by Brad Pelletier at the last minute to shadow Prince Albert of Monaco and his guests that included Lloyd Eisler the Olympian skater, among others.
I had no idea that I was going to be tasked with this until I arrived to work…in my 4 inch high heels. At first I was lovely and polite as I traipsed all over the resort with them making sure they had everything they needed.
But my patience wore thin after a couple of hours, when they were all gathered at the Turning Point Concession watching a soccer game on the TV in the concession while foursome after foursome piled up behind them. My feet were sore and cramping because of my Lady Gaga heels, so I whistled AND snapped my fingers, yelling “OK boys, let’s get going here!” The Ambassador gasped and said, “are you allowed to say that to them?” I said, “Sure am!” With that, they all scurried, and I sent them on their way to play the Ridge Course. I had to wear Crocs for 3 days after that because I’m pretty sure I suffered nerve damage in my feet.
What’s your favourite part of working at Predator Ridge?
I always tell people that I have the best job in the world. Every day is different. I work with the most incredible team of friends that feel like family. I get to meet amazing people, all with their own ‘story’. Over the years, my clients have become friends, and all these things make me love to come to work every single day!
What personal accomplishment are you most proud of that you completed at Predator Ridge?
I think the day that I was most proud was when our team executed the Best Buy event. 2 golf courses, almost 400 players, food or drinks on every hole, a retail outlet, shipping area, and a reception that went off without a hitch…well, except for the PA system not working in the heat on the Practice Facility when Rod was about to do his welcome speech!
I had spreadsheet after spreadsheet that was detailed and sent to different departments with their tasks, and nothing was missed. The event took months for me to detail with the Best Buy Committee, and to have our team execute it so flawlessly made me so proud. On the days that really count, it is a “All Hands On Deck” mentality and everyone thrives off of the energy of the event and we produce the most incredible experience for our guests!
Fun fact about you?
I used to play the bassoon in high school but quit because it was too heavy to carry the thing the 2km to and from school every day.
