♦  DIRTY FEET SNOWSHOE FUN RUN

The Dirty Feet crew are coming back to Predator Ridge this winter for their 2nd annual showshoe event. The run will be happening on January 19, 2019 from 4:30pm - 8:30pm. 5km or 10km options available and dinner afterwards is included.  Registration is now open online at:  DirtyFeet.ca.  EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION ends January 1 - save $5.

♦  USE OF THE GOLF COURSE DURING THE WINTER

As a friendly reminder (once the snow returns) please ensure you stay off of the greens and tee boxes on the golf courses. This includes tobogganing, nordic skiing and/or snowshoeing. This is extremely important so the delicate grasses on these areas are not damaged. If you happen to see anyone on any green or tee box, we would appreciate your assistance in informing everyone about the importance of staying off of these sensitive areas.

♦  DOGS ON LEASH

Lastly, a reminder to all pet owners, to please keep all dogs on a leash within the resort boundaries. We have received several comments over the past month and would hate to see animal control involved in the future. We also remind pet owners to please pick up after their pets and use the designated dog stations for disposal of waste.

While we planned and prepared for the courts new winter dome to be operational by now, we have unfortunately been delayed by the BC Hydro electrical service. After significant effort from our team and contractors, BC Hydro has confirmed they are ready to provide the necessary service. The Predator Ridge Development team has organized the contractors to work through the installation as soon as this service has been completed. Our opening has been delayed by approximately one month. If we can open our doors sooner, we will.

CLUBHOUSE
The clubhouse rendering and floorplan is complete. The building is in for permit and will break ground right away. We are so excited to have this clubhouse for all members! + Click here to view the rendering and floorplan for the new building.

Welcome to Winter

With winter now here, we wanted to remind you to prepare and keep yourself safe in the colder season. Take extra time when travelling, use extra caution when walking and make sure you have the right equipment for your outing. With the slightly higher elevation above the lakes and icing being a common occurrence, we recommend good winter tires for your car and sturdy footwear or grippers when walking.

Predator Ridge is within the city of Vernon and most roads are maintained to a higher standard than is mandated and seen in other residential neighbourhoods within the city. However, snow removal is an imperfect science so being ready for less than ideal conditions is necessary.

With the success that the resident Commonage Road Committee made with their lobbying with the Ministry of Transportation for a up classification of Commonage road, we are anticipating a higher level of service on the Commonage this season.

FROM THE VERNON FOLK-ROOTS MUSIC SOCIETY

One of Canada's best blues guitarists is coming to Vernon next month.

Jack Semple grew up on a farm north of Regina, Saskatchewan. He started his musical career playing with various Regina-based bands, and later relocated to Toronto in the late 1980s to become the lead guitarist of The Lincolns, a popular funk and rhythm and blues band. He left the band after two years and returned to Regina to pursue a solo career and to spend more time with his family.

After his move back to Regina, Semple contributed to television and music scores and appeared in the title role of Guitarman, a 1994 television movie. Semple also commenced a solo recording career that has resulted in the release of ten albums. In 1992, Semple came to national prominence through winning the MuchMusic "Guitar Wars" contest.

Semple has been twice nominated, in 1999 and 2000, for a Gemini Award for his soundtrack work on the television series Incredible Story Studio. Semple won a Juno award in 1991 for best roots recording. He has won two Western Canadian music awards for "Qu'Appelle" and "In the Blue Light". Semple continues to perform as a solo artist and with The Jack Semple Band, across Canada and now being championed across America!
