Can you spot the #WhiteHeartForVJH? April 27, 2020

Dear Valued Homeowners & Members

On behalf of the entire Predator Ridge team, I want to sincerely thank you for your support and loyalty over the last month, as we continue to work so hard to adjust our operations through all of the challenges we've all been facing.

I hope that you have been enjoying the variety of initiatives that our team has been working so hard on delivering to you.  Our goal continues to be focused on protecting our community while keeping things as normal as possible and continue the Predator Ridge lifestyle you are accustomed to.

While we are still facing many challenges surrounding COVID-19 and need to keep the health and safety of our residents and valued employees our top priority, we are thrilled that the timing is now suitable to open our golf courses in a responsible way. We will be opening using a phased approach with the first phase dedicated exclusively to active dues paying Members and Society Members only.  We also are implementing very stringent protocols specified by Golf Canada to ensure the safety of all golfers and our community as a whole.  If you have any questions about our golf opening, please reach out to our Director of Golf, Cameron Craig.

Thank you again for all of your positive feedback and support of our operations. You continue to motivate our team and it is amazing to see our community come together in a time that isn't easy on any of us and we will come through this stronger!

It has been a month since our last update to you. We hope that you and your family are staying safe and healthy during this unprecedented time. We are extremely grateful for your continued support through the unknown. It is with your support that we will be able to open again and continue to offer exceptional value for your membership.

As a reminder, we will be adding time onto your membership equal to the duration of the closure. As of today, you will have 40 days added to your membership. This is in line with what most clubs are doing throughout British Columbia and Alberta.

Conversations have begun with different clubs throughout the province. While we are not ready to open the doors quite yet, discussions are being had on what opening the club may look like. Tennis Canada and Tennis BC are not recommending that clubs open at this time but to start planning the considerations that need to addressed. Be assured that our goal is to have the Commons Racquet Club operating as soon as possible.

•  New Spring Product has arrived in the Clubhouse.
Some of the brands we will be carrying this year include:
→ Adidas Tennis
→ UnderArmour
→ Indygena
→ Okanagan Lifestyle
We can wait to share these products and more with you when we re-open!

•  The bubble/dome will not be coming down this year.
•  Landscaping behind the Clubhouse is set to begin this May.
•  The top two tennis courts are still available for use by members of the same household. There is a portable pickleball net there as well. This area is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Continue to stay safe and we look forward to seeing you soon.

FireSmart Update

A special shout out to the group of 7 volunteer homeowners who did a FireSmart clean up between Ridge 16 green and the Hockey Canada Cabin. They worked tirelessly starting last fall before the snow and into the spring to clean up an area that needed significant work to reduce the risk of fire in the area. This also helped beautify the area and clean it up for wildlife to enjoy.

We want to send out a Thank You to the Volunteers including:

  • An extra shout out to Gerry Fester, who initiated the clean up and took all the loads to the Vernon dump
  • Gord Ball
  • Frank Dollevoet
  • Mark Kellock
  • Ken Peterson
  • Jim Popowich
  • Ken Stewart

These gentlemen took out approximately 20-25 loads of dead debris, dead wood, pine needles, pine cones & twigs etc. The area came with its own safety challenges where they required to tie off for safety due to proximity to the water, as well as used winches to pull debris to a safer location. This has been one of the bigger, more challenging jobs for FireSmart clean up thus far.

Thank you to each of you for your continued efforts to make Predator Ridge a better place to live. We thank you for your extremely hard work in this project that all of us get to enjoy and thank you for being some of the key drivers in educating and leading our FireSmart initiatives at Predator Ridge.

If you have questions about FireSmart please reach out to or learn more about FireSmart at Predator Ridge through the website

Habitat for Humanity Bottle Drives

I would like to thank all the Predator Ridge Homeowners who have supported Habitat for Humanity Vernon bottle drives over the past 10 years.

Due to the risk to our homeowner volunteers, we have decided to postpone our monthly collection until further notice.  If for any reason you are unable to store your bottles until we resume feel free to contact me and I will try to arrange storage.

Through the generosity of our Homeowners and the many hours of volunteering, we have managed to help 4 families (11 children in total) acquire safe affordable homes to call their own in the Vernon area.

Since Habitat Restores are closed and all other fundraising has been suspended we have no revenue flow to help families.  We now need your help more then ever to make it through this difficult time. If you would like to help by making a donation please visit our web site at

A special shout out to the Predator Ridge Sewers who have collectively sewn and distributed over 550 masks over the last 8 weeks!  We are so proud of you ladies and thank you for being one of the stones making our community a better place!

We are delighted to announce that our biking trails will be open for riding as of May 6th, to residents only. To persuade non-residents from using the trails, we will be keeping all signage up and the Birdie Lake and parking lot closed. Thank you for abiding by signage and respecting our trails.

Please note that all Predator Ridge outdoor playgrounds are still currently closed due to recommendations by provincial and federal health authorities.

Our PRCLA and Commons Racquet Club outdoor courts are open for all residents who wish to get out to play, in an outdoor environment. Courts are open for play between persons of the same household only.  Please limit use and adhere to social distancing standards and respect your neighbours and community.

As a preventive hygiene measure, a reminder that we are not accepting cash payments for transactions in Commonage Market and Pallino's. Only credit and debit cards are now being accepted, with tap preferred.  Please be assured that our payment terminals will be disinfected between each payment transaction. Members with active accounts set up, may also charge to their Predator Ridge accounts.
